There is a wide range of activities regarding leisure, gastronomy, sports and culture at Rincón de la Victoria. There are four different fairs throughout the year (one per town), several sport events such as La Capitana Trial Challenge or the Granadillas BTT Challenge, as well as cultural events well known beyond the province of Málaga.
Some of them become a must due to its local roots such as the coastal procession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel every July 16th or the Verdiales Music Traditional Contest (Festival of Andalusian Touristic Interest) which is celebrated on the third Saturday of September. Other important events include the Commedy Festival, the Puerta de la Axarquía Flamenco Festival or the Zarzuela Festival.
Any month becomes the best moment to try the different gastronomic options such as the nationally famous Tapas Route, the Spoon Route, St. John’s night festival (and its traditional sardine skewers), or the Victorian Boquerón Festival (Festival of Provincial Interest).

February
- Benagalbón Fair to honour La Candelaria: The first fair of the town includes an emotional procession in honour of Our Lady of Candelaria.
- Carnival: The Carnival tradition continues to gain importance in Rincón de la Victoria. This is a festivity in which costumes, gastronomy, activities for children and, of course, music take the spotlight. The best carnival groups in all of Málaga and Cádiz makes this tradition a must for those passionate about Carnival.
- Spoon Route: A gastronomic route through the different local bars and restaurants including a selection of dishes ranging from the more traditional cuisine using local products to new versions of classic dishes, with a bit of fusion and other international options.
March-April
- Holy Week in Rincón de la Victoria features the religious brotherhood of ‘Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo Crucificado y María Santísima de los Dolores’.
- Holy Week in La Cala del Moral features the religious brotherhood of ‘Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Santísimo Cristo Crucificado y María Santísima de los Dolores.’
April-May
- Benagalbón Cultural Week: With more than 45 editions, this festivity becomes a perfect meeting point for artist all over Spain. It includes a wide range of cultural activities such as the Outdoors Painting Contest among others.
June
- Saint John: Along the coastline, the bonfires are lit being the meeting point to celebrate this famous party in our country. This festival takes place at the three coastal areas: Torre de Benagalbón, Rincón de la Victoria and Cala del Moral and they include sardines, music, live concerts or the traditional burning of the ‘Júa’.
July
- La Cala del Moral Fair: Traditional festival held at La Cala del Moral which is celebrated on the 16th along with the procession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
- El Rincón de la Victoria Fair: The main local fair which coincides with Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s festivity. It represents a mixture of traditional and contemporary in regards to leisure, culture and gastronomy.
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Festivity: Locals in Rincón accompany Our Lady of Mount Carmel by land and sea. The moment in which Our Lady enters the sea along with the sailors is specially beautiful. It is celebrated in the towns of Rincón de la Victoria and Cala del Moral.
- Commedy Festival: With more than 10 years of history, this festival allows everyone to enjoy theatre plays for everyone. These plays are represented outdoors and have free entrance.
August
- Torre de Benagalbón Fair: The last of the festivities of the local towns. It is celebrated by the seaside at the old railway station.
- Puerta de la Axarquía Flamenco Festival: The perfect event for Flamenco lovers. Located in the traditional Club El Piyayo, this festival has lived through more than 25 years and has major importance throughout the province of Málaga.
- Puppets Festival: Another great opportunity to make children closer to culture. In all four local towns, different plays in which children are the protagonists are carried out.
- Zarzuela Festival: A lyrical festival more than a decade long which has settled as an specially attractive event in summer.
September
- Verdiales Music Traditional Contest: A Festival of Andalusian Touristic Interest. The area of Benagalbón overflows with visitors in this cultural meeting of “verdiales pandas de Estilo Montes”. You should not miss the opportunity to experience this festival, regardless of whether you like this tradition or not. The street becomes an stage in which the audience are side by side with the artists.
- Victorian Boquerón Festival: Festival of Provincial Touristic Interest. The fresh anchovy (known as ‘Boquerón) becomes the star of these days in which the great variety of ways to eat this fish is shown.
- Procession of Our Lady of Victoria, the Patron Saint: Celebrated every September 8th, this becomes one of the most emotional moments of the year.
October
- Halloween: the ‘Plaza de la Constitución’ becomes the home of many activities for this terrifying night in Rincón de la Victoria, along with other locations such Sala Las Musas in Cala del Moral or the Bezmiliana Fortified House.
November
- Tapas Route: A gastronomic route through the different bars and restaurants through town at affordable prices.
December-January
- Christmas in Rincón de la Victoria. Christmas lights lighting ceremony happens on December 2nd. Other key moments include Santa Claus’s visit on December 24th and the Three Kings on January 5th which includes a parade on the following day.
